Registration Form

The Regional Government of Biscay, as well as the direct consultation on statistic information that it provides on the Web, has also created the computer application "InfoBizkaia" which contains full statistic data related to Biscay and its municipalities. InfoBizkaia is extremely user-friendly and presents information in three different ways: as statistic tables, using bar graphs and by means of coloured theme maps. This information is presented in the multimedia CD-ROM "InfoBizkaia", integrated with "Street Maps" of all the municipalities of Biscay and with "Bizkaia Maitea", which provides a wide panorama of the Territory (history, art, culture, sports, cuisine …). In order to visualize its contents and to find out how to purchase the same, please click on the top link CD-ROM "Bizkaia 2006".

To see a sample of the information contained in "InfoBizkaia", with its full functions, you can download the application containing data pertaining to "Temporary population series" (population since 1900) to your computer.

You can also download a basic map of Biscay with its municipal divisions, in Excel (DataMap module), in order that each user may prepare theme maps with their own data on a municipal level, using this spreadsheet.

In order to download the two products indicated above, please fill in the Registration Form, located at the header of this page.

The following is a brief explanation of the products you can download to your computer.

POPULATION SERIES OVER TIME

Although this data forms part of InfoBizkaia and, therefore, it is included in the CD-ROM "Bizkaia 2006", you can download this application with all its different functionalities, but exclusively with the population series of Biscay and each of its municipalities. It contains the total population registered in the census pertaining to the last 100 years and also data pertaining to births, deaths, marriages and migrations of the past 10 years. The statistic data, once installed in the application, is presented in tables, comparative graphs and theme maps for each of the variables.

MAKE THEME MAPS OF BISCAY USING EXCEL

If you wish to make theme maps with your own data at municipal level, using the Excel spreadsheet and its module DataMap (Microsoft Map), you will have the map of Biscay with the municipal divisions.

Operating requirement:

  • You must have Microsoft EXCEL 97 or a more recent version installed in your computer.
  • The Microsoft Map module must also be installed (this is an EXCEL component).

The programme will provide a user-friendly guide to installation of the maps of Biscay in your computer.

Simply fill in the registration form attached to obtain the installation programme which will allow you to work with your own spreadsheet.

Once you have installed the map of Biscay in your computer, you can add your own data, at municipal level, using Excel's Microsoft Map module. To do this, the data table must have an integration column which includes the codes or names of the officially recognised municipalities.:

The municipal codes must have the following structure: 48XXX (XXX being the official code of the municipality - all cells will be defined as a character).

The installation programme provides a spreadsheet with official names and codes to allow you to construct the first map in under 5 minutes.
